About Bright Futures
Seniors are reminded to apply for the Bright Futures Scholarship Program NOW at www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org. Community Service hours should be turned into Guidance by February 1 for early eligibility.
 
 

Florida has revamped its Bright Futures scholarship program.  Contact a guidance counselor for specific details or visit Bright Futures web site.

***Community Service Hours must be pre-approved, and students must complete the required form. Students must also turn in community service hours to Guidance before graduation.

***Seniors wishing to apply for Bright Futures may do so after December 1, 2013.  Applications MUST be completed by graduation.  All Seniors are Urged to Apply!  Go to www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org

Awards
  • Medallion Scholars Award
    • *3.0 weighted GPA in 16 college prep courses
      (Note: GPAs are not rounded)
    • *4 English, 4 Math (Alg 1 + above), 3 Science, 3 Social Studies, 2 Foreign Lang.
    • *1170 SAT or 26 ACT scores
    • *75 hours of community service
  • Academic Scholars Award
    • *3.5 weighted GPA in 16 college prep courses
    • *4 English, 4 Math (Alg 1 + above), 3 Science, 3 Social Studies, 2 Foreign Lang.
    • *1290 SAT or 29 ACT scores
    • *100 hours of community service
  • Gold Seal Vocational Award
    • *3.0 weighted GPA; does not require college prep
      (Note: GPAs are not rounded)
    • Credits must be the 16 core credits required for high school graduation:
      *4 English, 4 Math, 3 Science, 3 Social Science, 1 Fine; OR Identified Practical Art; OR .5 credit in each; 1 Physical Education (to include integration of health)
    • *3.5 GPA in a Vocational Gold Seal program of 3 or more courses
    • *Passing scores on P.E.R.T. or SAT/ACT
    • *30 hours of community service
